Wireless headphones often use the 2.4 GHz band, the same band used by many Wi-Fi devices. If the router or other devices use the same frequencies, you may hear dropouts or interruptions.
What to try first
- Increase the distance between the headphone transmitter and the router or other 2.4 GHz devices.
- Reset the headphones and transmitter to pick a clean frequency:
- On the headset, press and hold both + and – buttons until the LED blinks red (about 2 seconds).
- While still holding + and –, press the headset power button, then release all three buttons.
- The headset LED will blink slowly. Place the headphones onto the transmitter to re-establish the connection, then power the headphones back on.
If interference continues – prioritize the headphones
- Temporarily unplug your Wi-Fi router.
- Turn on the headphones and let them run for about 2 minutes (or 15 minutes if your router is old) to establish their signal.
- Plug the router back in and turn it on. The router and headphones will then use different parts of the bandwidth and the connection should stay stable until power is lost.
If the problem remains
- Turn off 2.4 GHz devices you are not using (e.g., a wireless printer) to reduce signal congestion.
- If possible, use devices that operate on a different band (5 GHz or wired connections).
