If you hear a high-pitched whistling, try these steps:
1. Whistle when putting on or inserting into your ears
- Remove the headphones.
- Check that you are not covering the microphone ports with your fingers, hair, or ears.
- Readjust how the headphones sit in your ears to improve the fit.
2. Whistle when turning on or removing from the case
- Make sure the microphone ports are not blocked.
- Check for hairs or debris in the ports.
- For in-ear models, remove the ear tips and check for cerumen (earwax) buildup on the screens.
- Clean the nozzles and ear tips before replacing them.
- If needed, use a can of compressed air to blow out any debris. Use short bursts and hold the can upright.
3. If the whistle continues
Reset the headphones to factory default. Follow the reset steps in your product manual.
4. If the whistle still occurs
If the problem happens in all scenarios and there is no debris, send the unit in for service.
