Important: Follow these steps if your Wi-Fi network is a MESH network, operates on 5 GHz, or if you are unsure of your network type.
Before you start
- This guide assumes the AMBEO Soundbar is new out of the box. If in doubt, perform a factory reset first.
- The Smart Control App should be freshly installed. Remove any previously added AMBEO Soundbars from the Devices page.
- This notice applies to: AMBEO Soundbar Max (all units), AMBEO Soundbar Plus running software version 106 or earlier, and AMBEO Soundbar Mini running software version 92 or earlier. If your Plus or Mini is running later software, you can disregard this guide.
- If you are connecting to a known 2.4 GHz network, you can also disregard this guide.
Setup steps
1. Power up the soundbar
Turn on your AMBEO Soundbar. Go to your phone's Wi-Fi settings and connect to the AMBEO Wi-Fi hotspot.
2. Set up the Smart Control App
Download and open the Smart Control App. Use the "Add Product" feature to detect the soundbar. When prompted, select Done and tap Next.
3. Select your country
Choose your country from the list. Skip room calibration and skip adding subwoofers for now.
4. Close the app and disconnect
Fully close the Smart Control App (do not just minimise it). Disconnect your phone from the AMBEO hotspot.
5. Connect to your home Wi-Fi
Connect your phone to your home Wi-Fi network. Open the Smart Control App again and remove the previously added soundbar by selecting the three dots and tapping "Forget Device."
6. Add the soundbar again
Use the app to discover and add your AMBEO Soundbar. Make sure to select the same Wi-Fi network your phone is connected to. Complete the setup, including calibration and adding any subwoofers.
