Step 1 – Check power
Test the charger and headset lights
Remove the headset from the charger, then place it back on. Does the charge light come on?
- Yes: Proceed to Step 2.
- No: Press and hold the power button on the back edge of the right earcup for 3 seconds. Check for a light on the bottom front of the base station and above the headset power button. If lights appear, power is working. If the headset light does not turn on, insert fresh AAA batteries in each earcup (spring touching the flat end).
If there are still no lights on the transmitter/charger
- Check that the yellow-tipped cable is plugged into the socket labeled "DC" on the back of the charger.
- Test the outlet by plugging in a lamp. If the lamp does not turn on, the outlet may be switched off or not working.
- If the outlet works, remove the international adapter from the power supply, rub the metal contacts with a pencil eraser, reattach, and test again.
Step 2 – Check the connection
Optical (digital) cable
- Make sure the switch under the Sennheiser optical socket is in the up position.
- Check the light on the bottom of the transmitter:
- Pulsing or changing: No PCM digital signal. Change the source audio setting to PCM.
- Solid green: Transmitter and receiver are communicating.
- If solid green but no audio, check that: source volume is turned up (or set to Fixed), the optical output is selected in the TV audio menu, and any protective caps have been removed from the optical cable ends.
- If both optical and analog cables are connected, use the switch on the back of the transmitter to select which input the headphones receive.
Analog cable (red/white or 3.5mm)
- Make sure you are plugged into an audio output, not an input. Sockets labeled "AV/Component In" are inputs and cannot provide audio to the transmitter.
- If connected to an output, check your TV or source menu for an option to enable an external audio system.
Quick tips
- If something does not work, double-check power with the lamp test.
- Batteries must be correctly oriented: spring touching the flat end.
- Remove any protective caps from optical cables before testing.
