Sennheiser does not manufacture a Lightning to 3.5mm adapter. You can use any MFi-certified Lightning to 3.5mm adapter to listen with a 3.5mm connected Sennheiser headphone.
What you need to know
- Use an MFi-certified adapter. Look for "Made for iPhone" (MFi) certification.
- If your headphone cable has a microphone, make sure the TRRS connections on the adapter match the TRRS on your headphone cable. Mismatched TRRS may stop the microphone from working.
Tips for choosing an adapter
- Certification: Choose an adapter that is explicitly MFi-certified.
- Type: Ensure the adapter is Lightning to 3.5mm (not USB-C or other formats).
- TRRS compatibility: If your headphone uses a microphone, verify that the adapter's TRRS layout matches your headphone's TRRS layout (CTIA or OMTP).
How to use
- Plug the Lightning end into your iPhone, iPad, or other compatible device.
- Connect your Sennheiser headphone's 3.5mm plug into the adapter.
- Play audio and test the microphone (if supported) to confirm proper function.
Troubleshooting
- If the microphone does not work, recheck that the adapter and headphone cable TRRS configurations match.
- If audio won't play, try a different MFi-certified adapter to rule out a faulty unit.
