To connect your gaming headset to a computer, follow these steps:
1. Connect the Headset
Plug the HD 500 BAM into the computer's 3.5mm headset jack, or use a 3.5mm TRRS female to 2× 3.5mm headphone/microphone jack adaptor to connect to separate headphone and microphone sockets.
If your computer does not support analogue 3.5mm headset sockets, use a USB to analogue headset jack adaptor in a USB port.
2. Set Default Devices
- Open your computer settings.
- Select the headset as the default playback and communication device to route all sound through the headset.
- These settings are typically found in the Control Panel under Audio Devices or Sound & Audio Settings.
3. Adjust Soft Phone Settings (if applicable)
If you are using soft phone software such as Skype or Teams, adjust the audio settings within that software to ensure the headset is recognised.
4. Using the Headset for Communication Only
If you want to use the headset only for calls whilst keeping other sounds (like alerts) through your computer speakers:
- Set the computer speakers as the default playback device.
- Set the headset as the default communications device.
Note: This setup depends on your computer's software and settings.
