Important: LED indicator details are described in the SB02 user manual (page 17). When you see a color or pattern, follow the matching steps.
Subwoofer LED status (what the LEDs mean)
- Solid White: Subwoofer is wirelessly connected to the Ambeo SB02.
- Solid Green: Subwoofer is connected via RCA cable and wireless connection is off.
- Flashing Yellow: Subwoofer is in pairing mode. To pair:
- Press the setup button on the rear of the SB02 once, or
- Use the Smart Control app.
- Flashing White: Subwoofer is already paired to a device. If the connection fails, reboot the Soundbar.
- Flashing Yellow White Yellow: Unplug the Soundbar from power for 20 seconds and then plug back in.
No sound from the Subwoofer
Pick the connection type you are using (wired or wireless) and follow the steps.
- Wired connection to Ambeo Max or Ambeo Plus
- Check LED color: It should be green.
- If it is not green, unplug the sub’s cable and reinsert it.
- If the LED still does not turn green:
- Turn off the sub.
- Unplug the sub for at least 60 seconds to fully discharge the capacitors.
- Plug in power, boot the sub, and reconnect the audio cable.
- The LED should turn green.
- If the LED is green but there is no sound:
- Unplug the cable from the Max, then touch the cable end with your finger. You should hear a hum from the sub.
- If you do not hear a hum, there may be an input issue on the sub.
- Wireless connection (Plus / Mini)
- The Ambeo Subwoofer connects to the Ambeo Plus or Mini using BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy).
- During pairing, the Soundbar logs the Subwoofer MAC address.
- This can cause problems if you try to connect the sub to a different Soundbar, or if pairing is cleared on the SB02 but not on the sub.
If the Subwoofer won’t connect or you want to use a different Soundbar
- If the Subwoofer is flashing white but will not connect to the SB02:
- Reboot the SB02 and see if it reconnects automatically.
- If it does not reconnect, or you want to pair the sub with a different Soundbar, clear the pairings on the Subwoofer.
How to clear BLE pairings on the Subwoofer
- If the first Soundbar is powered off, you should be able to connect the sub to the new Soundbar.
- If not, clear the pairings from the first Soundbar’s memory:
- Press and hold the Subwoofer button for 3 seconds.
- The LED will flash orange 3 times, then blink yellow. This means the BLE pairing is cleared and the sub is visible.
- Open the Smart Control App > Settings > Subwoofer.
- If a subwoofer is listed, there will be an option Remove All. Choose Remove All.
- Confirm the subwoofer LED is still flashing yellow.
- In the app, select Add Subwoofer, or press the Setup button on the back of the SB02 to add the sub again.
