Battery basics
- Use rechargeable NiMH AAA batteries (600–900 mAh).
- Do not use alkaline batteries – they can leak.
- Lithium batteries are not supported and should not be used.
What the charger lights mean
RS 120 / RS 135
The charge light stays on while the headphones are on the charger. If the light never comes on or goes out after a few minutes, there is a charge fault.
RS 120-W
- Charge LED is red while charging.
- Charge LED turns off when fully charged (or if no headphones are on the charger).
RS 165 / RS 175 / RS 185 / RS 195
- Charge LED turns green when fully charged.
- After replacing batteries, LED calibration may take up to 72 hours. Use the headphones normally and the LEDs will sync.
- A blinking charge LED indicates a charging fault.
Common causes of charging faults
- Not using NiMH AAA batteries.
- Batteries not fully inserted or incorrectly aligned (flat side must face the spring).
- Cushions not fully seated, so earcups do not touch the charger pins.
Steps to fix charging issues
- Turn off the headphones. Open the cushion by turning left and lifting off.
- Remove and reinsert the batteries, making sure the flat side faces the spring.
- Make sure the adjustable headband is fully closed and the earcups sit evenly on the charger.
- Swap the batteries: put the left battery in the right cup and the right battery in the left cup. Check if charging improves.
- Clean the contact points on the headband and in the battery compartment with a pencil eraser.
- Unplug the transmitter for 15 minutes, then plug it back in.
- If the problem continues, replace the batteries with new NiMH AAA batteries.
Extra tips
- If the cushion is hard to open, rotate the cover a bit more and try again.
- Make sure the headset is completely off before opening.
