Your headset communicates with your phone in two ways:
- Audio: Bluetooth Classic (for sound)
- App: Bluetooth LE (for the Smart Control app)
If another device is connected, there may not be enough room for the LE connection. A phone OS update can also affect Bluetooth behavior – a reset or power cycle often helps.
What to check first
- If the problem only occurs on one device, check that device's other Bluetooth connections.
- Some devices can only run 2 Bluetooth connections at once – make sure no other device is connected to the same phone via Bluetooth.
- Make sure location services are active on your device.
Step-by-step fix
1. If the app keeps disconnecting
In the Smart Control app, choose Forget the device. Then in your phone's Bluetooth settings, forget/unpair the headphones.
2. Put the headphones in pairing mode
Look for flashing red/blue lights. Check your manual for the exact steps for your model.
3. Pair again
On your phone, open Bluetooth settings and select the headphones from the list of available devices.
4. Test sound
Play audio to confirm the headphones work for sound (Bluetooth Classic connection).
5. Connect with the app
Open the Smart Control app and follow the on-screen steps to connect (the LE connection).
6. If it still fails
Power cycle both the phone and headphones (turn off, then back on) and try pairing again from the start.
If you still have trouble
Try the app on another device. If the issue occurs there too, it may be related to the model or the phone. If it works on another device but not your main one, adjust the Bluetooth settings on that specific phone or contact support with your exact model names.
Tip: Keep both devices close together and remove any extra Bluetooth connections you do not need while pairing.
