If you are experiencing sound in only one ear or inconsistent sound levels, follow these steps to identify and resolve the issue.
1. Check the cable connection
Many Sennheiser headphones with a single earcup cable have a twist-to-lock connection. If not properly secured, single-side connectivity issues may occur. Make sure the audio plug is firmly connected to the audio device – a properly connected cable should not wiggle.
If it does wiggle, this may be caused by:
- The cable not being fully plugged in
- A faulty input on the device
- A case on the device preventing a proper connection
2. Inspect the headphone jack
Check for any debris (dust or lint) in the headphone jack of the audio source that may be obstructing connectivity.
3. Clean the connecting jack
If oils or grime have built up on the headphone plug, it may prevent proper contact. Clean the connecting jack using a basic alcohol wipe.
4. Test with a different audio source
Connect your headphones to a different audio source to determine if the issue lies with the original device. If the headphones work fine with another device, the original audio source may have a setting or issue causing the problem.
Note: Many modern audio devices have factory-set audio limits that may need adjustment to deliver the full audio signal.
5. Contact Sennheiser
If you determine that the headphones are the source of the issue, please contact Sennheiser directly for further assistance.
