1. Check power and range
- Make sure the headphones are charged.
- Confirm the headphones show as "connected" in your device's Bluetooth menu or in the Smart Control app.
- Stay within about 10 meters (30 feet) with no walls or large obstacles in between.
2. Check the audio output
- Make sure the headphones are selected as the audio output on your phone or computer – not just connected.
- On a computer, set the headphones as the default sound device.
- If you see the Bluetooth connection listed as "other," choose the Headphones or Headset option, or put the headphones into pairing mode to connect in Classic mode.
3. Adjust volume
Increase the volume on the source device first (phone, tablet, or computer), then on the headphones.
4. Test with another device
Try the headphones with a different device to determine whether the issue is with the headphones or your original device.
5. Fix Bluetooth connection issues (Classic vs. LE)
Some Sennheiser headphones use two Bluetooth connections:
- Classic Bluetooth: for audio playback
- Bluetooth LE: for the Smart Control app
If your device shows "connected" but there is no sound, you may only have the LE connection. To fix this:
- Place both earbuds back in the charging case (for true wireless models).
- In your phone's Bluetooth settings, delete/unpair all entries for the headphones, including any "-LE" entry.
- Turn Bluetooth off, then back on (or reboot your phone).
- Take the earbuds out of the case and put them into pairing mode (look for the blue/red blinking light – check your manual for exact steps).
- In Bluetooth settings, select the headphones from Available Devices and pair.
- Test the sound. If audio works, open the Smart Control app to confirm the LE connection.
Tip: Connect the Classic Bluetooth audio first, then open the Smart Control app to avoid issues on some phones.
6. Factory reset (last resort)
- In the Smart Control app, connect to your headphones and open device settings.
- Find and run the factory reset option.
- After the reset, delete all old pairings from your device.
- Put the headphones back into pairing mode and re-pair.
Quick tips
- Always confirm you are connected to the correct device, not just paired.
- If you see "LE" in your Bluetooth settings, finish the regular audio connection first.
- Test with a different device to confirm whether the issue is with the headphones or the original device.
