Some Sennheiser models connect directly to a TV or device with a digital optical output. These models require the source to provide a PCM signal.
If your headset does not support optical, use a Digital-to-Analog Decoder to convert the digital signal to analog. Do not use a Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC) – DACs also require PCM. Decoders support surround sound signals; the built-in DAC supports PCM only.

If your transmitter does not have an optical connection
Use a Digital-to-Analog Decoder to convert the optical signal to analog, then connect your headphones to the decoder outputs.
Quick tips
- Look for the TV's optical (TOSLINK) port.
- If your TV only has a Digital Coaxial Audio Out, use a Decoder that supports this connection.
- Check your model's manual or product page for exact input options.
