Product Overview
If the earbuds are not functioning properly, perform a hard reset. A software reset will be done each time you insert the earbuds into the charging case and wait for at least 10 seconds.
Individual settings such as the pairing settings are not deleted.
- Insert the earbuds into the charging case. Make sure to place the right earbud in the right charging compartment and the left earbud in the left one. Check the left and right markings on both the earbuds and inside the charging case to ensure correct placement.
- Close the lid of the charging case and wait for at least 10 seconds.
- Open the lid again.
- The earbuds will restart to complete the reset.
If the earbuds are not functioning properly and a hardware reset does not resolve the issue, reset the earbuds to factory default. This will delete all settings, including pairing information.
You can reset the earbuds to the factory settings following below steps:
- Disconnect and remove all existing Bluetooth connections with your earbuds, i.e. delete “ACCENTUM Clip” from the list of Bluetooth devices found on your device.
- Each earbud must be reset individually. Place an earbud on your ear, then tap and hold the earbud’s touch control panels for 15-16 seconds to initiate the reset. A short, repeating melody will play once the factory reset is successful.
- Repeat Step 2 with the second earbud. Place the initial earbud back in the charging case while performing the factory reset.
- After the factory reset is complete, remove the earbuds and place them close together. The earbuds will automatically connect to each other (peer paired) once the reset is successful.
- Pair the earbuds with your Bluetooth device again by touching and holding both the left and right touch control panels for 3 seconds until the pairing melody is heard.
Alternatively:
Initiate a factory reset via the Smart Control Plus app.
Setup & First Connection
In case the audio quality is poor and sounds “mono”, it is likely that your Windows PC settings are incorrect, and you are in hands-free protocol for phone calls instead of Bluetooth stereo mode.
When listening to music or other high-quality audio content, make sure that the Bluetooth audio profile of your Windows system is set to "ACCENTUM Clip". The audio profiles can be checked and changed in the Windows notification bar (lower right corner, loudspeaker symbol).
When using Microsoft Teams, make sure that the Microsoft Teams settings for speakers and microphones are set to ACCENTUM Clip.
For best sound and phone call quality, it is important to place the earbuds correctly in the ear.
Place the right earbud on your right ear and the left earbud on your left ear. Hook the earbuds over your earlobes, with one end resting in the concha and the other end resting on the back of the earlobe.
Adjust them until they sit comfortably and securely on your ears, ensuring the earbuds are oriented toward the ear canal.
The Quick Guide explains exactly how to insert the earbuds into your ears to achieve a perfect fit.
Battery & Charging Basics
Make sure that the charging contacts of both the earbuds and the charging case are clean.
Also ensure that the right earbud is placed in the right charging slot and the left earbud in the left slot of the charging case.
If charging is still not possible, perform a reset followed by a factory reset of the earbuds.
If your earbuds are empty after being stored in the charging case, they may not have been placed correctly in the charging compartments.
Make sure the right earbud is placed in the right charging slot and the left earbud in the left slot.
Check the left and right markings on both the earbuds and inside the charging case to ensure correct placement. This ensures proper contact with the charging pins and allows the earbuds to charge correctly.
Sound & Acoustics
First of all, you should restart your smartphone and check for the latest software updates for your phone
If you can’t hear any audio, check the following:
- Make sure that the earbuds are charged and connected to your Bluetooth device.
- Check in the Bluetooth settings of your connected device that media and call connection is activated.
- Make sure the earbuds are inserted into your ears correctly.
- Increase the volume on your Bluetooth device and on the earbuds by pressing the touchpad on the right earbud until you hear the tone prompt "Volume max".
- Make sure that the earbuds are not unintentionally actively connected to another device via Bluetooth Multipoint. Try switching off any other Bluetooth audio sources you may be connected to.
- If the sound still does not work after the above steps, restart the earbuds (see "How can I reset the earbuds?").
For some Android smartphones there is a separate volume control for the Bluetooth headset and for the Android smartphone.
Ensure that both volume controls are set to max. To increase volume, tap and hold the touchpad of the right earbud until you hear a tone prompt indicating the maximum volume has been reached. Now, increase the smartphone’s volume to maximum volume.
For smartphones that feature “absolute volume control” such as the Apple iPhone, there is only one volume control available, so you can either use the smartphone’s or ACCENTUM Clip volume control.
In addition, you might not be able to hear the full volume of the ACCENTUM Clip as the earphones may not sit properly in your ear. For best results, follow the guidance in the quick guide on how best to place the earbuds on your ears.
Bluetooth & Codecs
If Bluetooth pairing does not work, proceed in the following order:
- First, you should restart your smartphone and check for the latest software updates for your phone.
- Charge the ACCENTUM Clip for at least 1 hour to ensure they are fully charged. The charging LED pulsates yellow to indicate charging and permanent green to indicate theyare fully charged.
- Take the earbuds out of the charging case.
- Simultaneously touch and hold the right and left touch control for 3 seconds to start pairing mode. You will hear a pairing melody.
- Start the search for Bluetooth devices on your smartphone and select “ACCENTUM Clip”.
- If the Bluetooth pairing still does not work after the above steps, restart the earbuds (see "How can I reset the earbuds?").
If you encounter problems during a firmware update of your ACCENTUM Clip, please carry out the following steps:
- Insert both earbuds into the charging case for at least 10 seconds. Make sure to place the right earbud in the right charging compartment and the left earbud in the left one.
- Remove the earbuds from the charging case and reconnect them to the Sennheiser Smart Control Plus app.
- Repeat the firmware update or follow the instructions in the app.
Frequent audio dropouts when using the LDAC codec are typically caused by its high data transmission rate, which can be more sensitive to wireless interference and connection conditions than other Bluetooth codecs.
This may occur in environments with many competing wireless signals (such as a busy train station), when the distance between the earbuds and the device increases, or when there are physical obstructions between them.
To improve stability, try moving closer to your audio source, reducing obstacles, or switching to a more stable codec such as AAC or SBC if your device supports it. This can help ensure a smoother and more consistent listening experience.
If you have connected a Windows PC in parallel to a second audio device (e.g. a mobile phone) and you cannot play or hear any sound from the second audio device, make sure that the audio stream on the Windows PC has been completely stopped.
Some Windows systems keep the audio connection active even if you have stopped the audio connection and prevent ACCENTUM Clip from switching to other multipoint audio sources.
This happens when the Windows system continues to use the Bluetooth hands-free protocol after a phone call, as calls take priority over listening to music.
In this case, manually change the audio profile from “ACCENTUM Clip HandsFree” to “ACCENTUM Clip Stereo” in the Windows notification bar (lower right corner, loudspeaker symbol).
Calls & Microphones
If your voice is not being heard clearly during phone calls, check the following points:
- Make sure the earbuds are properly clipped onto your ears for a stable and comfortable fit.
- Ensure the correct wearing position: the sound outlet should face the ear canal while the main body of the clip sits in a horizontal alignment along the ear, helping to position the microphone optimally for clear voice pickup.
- Ensure that the microphone area of the clip is not obstructed or blocked by the ear and is oriented correctly to support optimal voice pickup.
Wind conditions can also affect call quality, so try to position yourself in a more sheltered environment if needed.
